Interfluxnik 48 at the Hiller

The Interfluxnik 48 table has been part of the permanent collection at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos, CA since 2014. Helicopter designer, Stanley Hiller Jr., was born November 15, 1924 in San Francisco. At age 15 he engineered a prototype for a coaxial helicopter (2 concentric sets of counter-rotating blades) calling it the XH-44 “Hiller-Copter”. 2 years later he opened a small factory on Addison St. in Berkeley, CA. Kids those days. NASA’s helicopter on Mars, Ingenuity, is a coaxial bladed machine. Now for something much less complex:

You might recall the Hiller Museum was the venue for a SW Episode One fan festival back in 1999 or 2000? Ralph McQuarrie graced the proceedings with his quiet magnetism.

Please pardon the resolution.. stills taken from hi-8 video.
